And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.”

The Leaves are Medicine

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” Revelation 22:1-2 KJV

“In the Bible, leaves are often mentioned in various contexts, symbolizing life, healing, and the passage of time. They appear in both literal and metaphorical senses, contributing to the rich tapestry of biblical imagery.”- The Topical encyclopedia

Diligently Harken to the Voice of the Lord

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”

Exodus 15:26 KJV

The word Heal defined:(v)

  1. To make free from injury or disease : to make sound or whole

  2. To cause (an undesirable condition) to be overcome: Mend

  3. To to restore to original purity or integrity

“Healing, in the biblical context, refers to the restoration of health, wholeness, and well-being, often through divine intervention. It encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, reflecting God's power and compassion. Healing is a significant theme throughout the Scriptures, illustrating God's desire to restore His creation.” - The Topical Encyclopedia

There are Physical Consequences for Disobedience

“The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scab and the itch that you cannot heal. The LORD will strike you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart and mind”.

Deuteronomy 28:27-28 AMP

Disobedience: (n.) Neglect or refusal to comply with authority; violation of a command or prohibition. - Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary

“Disobedience, in a biblical context, refers to the act of defying or refusing to comply with God's commands and instructions. It is considered a fundamental aspect of sin, reflecting a willful departure from the divine will. Disobedience is often portrayed as a rebellion against God's authority and a rejection of His sovereignty.”- The Topical Encyclopedia

Jesus Our Deliverer

The term "deliver" in the Bible is often used to describe the act of being rescued or set free from danger, sin, or oppression. It is a significant theme throughout both the Old and New Testaments, reflecting God's power and willingness to save His people. The Hebrew word often translated as "deliver" is "natsal," while the Greek equivalent is "rhyomai."- The Topical Encyclopedia

“And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.” Luke 4:37-39 KJV

“Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.” Luke 4:40-41 KJV

Jesus Sets Us Free From Oppression

Oppression: (n.) A sense of heaviness or obstruction in the body or mind; depression; dullness; lassitude; as, an oppression of spirits; an oppression of the lungs. - Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed”.

Luke 4:18 NKJV

Beauty for Ashes

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV

“The imagery of a "crown of beauty" replacing "ashes" symbolizes transformation and redemption. Ashes were traditionally used in ancient Israel as a sign of mourning and repentance. The exchange of ashes for a crown signifies a reversal of fortune, where God turns sorrow into joy and honor. This transformation is a foretaste of the ultimate redemption found in Christ, who brings beauty from brokenness. The crown can also be seen as a symbol of victory and dignity, aligning with the New Testament promise of believers receiving a crown of life (James 1:12).”

Jesus is the Great Physician

“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.”

Luke 8:43-44 KJV

A Happy Heart is good Medicine & a Joyful Mind Causes Healing.

“He who becomes the parent of a fool [who is spiritually blind] does so to his sorrow,

And the father of a fool [who is spiritually blind] has no joy.

A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing,

But a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22 AMP

A Joyful Mind: Joy, in the biblical context, is a profound and abiding sense of happiness and contentment that is rooted in spiritual realities rather than temporal circumstances. It is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and is often associated with the presence and favor of God. Unlike fleeting happiness, biblical joy is enduring and can be experienced even in the midst of trials and suffering.- The Topical Encyclopedia
